Student Laptop Policies and Restrictions

CCPS places restrictions on student devices for the purpose of keeping students safe on the internet and on-task in the classroom. This document contains a list of policies and restrictions in place on student devices supplied by CCPS. 

We do our best to keep the list up to date but, due to the constantly changing nature of technology, we can't guarantee the list is 100% accurate at all times.

Policy	Reason for the Restriction
Students can't install or run any software that is not approved	Prevents students from installing unwanted software, such as games, social media, chat apps, VPNs, etc.
Students can't change certain Windows system settings	Prevents students from bypassing web filtering
Firewall settings prevent access to certain local IP addresses on the CCPS network	Prevents access to CCPS infrastructure such as routers, security cameras, services not used by students, etc.
