Needed files are attached but license codes are required for students to access the resources on the W.W. Norton site.  Contact Kim Hancock for licensing information.

STEP 1: Add the integrated links for the book to your Canvas course.
1. Please click the course materials link
provided via e-mail and download the RLMS
file (do not try to open the file).
2. Navigate to your new Canvas course.

“Common Cartridge 1.x Package.”

RLMS file that you downloaded to your
computer.

import process. You’ll see the status of
the import under “Current Jobs”.
g. Once you see “Completed” as the status
under Current Jobs, continue to the next
section.
• Disregard any “issues” you see.

STEP 2: Connect the Canvas course to Norton by creating a student set.
1. From your Canvas course, click on the full
ebook link (not an ebook chapter) that you
added.
• Alternatively, you can click on any
InQuizitive / Smartwork link that you
added to your course.
2. Log in with your Norton account when
prompted.
3. Select the option to Create a New Student Set
from Scratch. In future years, you can choose
to copy an existing student set if you have any
assignment settings you’d like to carry over.
• If you copy an existing student set, custom
assignment settings will also carry over.
4. Enter your state, school type, school, start
date, and end date, and click “Submit.”
5. After you create the student set, you should
see a green badge indicating an LMS
connection.
6. If desired/applicable, set ‘Grades Accepted
Until’ dates on the Norton site for the
gradable content.
7. Once you have the settings and grades the
way you want them, you can publish your
course for student visibility.
*Step two should be repeated in every individual
Canvas course in which you are using this text*

STEP 3: Have your students join your course.
1. Have your students navigate to your Canvas
course.4. They will be prompted to enter the 9-letter
access code.
2. Have students click on any eBook,
InQuizitive / Smartwork assignment link.
This will prompt your students to open the
link in a new window.5. Once they have registered their code, they
will be automatically added to your student
set and ready to complete assignments.
Students must access all content via your
Canvas course.
3. They will be prompted to Sign In if they
already have a Norton account or Register
for access if they are using Norton products
for the first time.
